The country faces a shortage of 6000 adapters that have been lost mainly due to the sabotage of the Minister of Energy and Energy Development in July of the National Assembly today.
He was answering a question by the Southern Mangondo Southern Mangondo project during the weekly question and answer session.
CDE Mangondo wanted to know the government’s policy regarding the replacement of infrastructure to send damaged or low electricity, especially for schools and health institutions, some of which went for several months without electricity.
“The main problem we face is to sabotage the infrastructure, and while we are talking, 6000 transformers have been stolen at the country level. We have no locally to produce enough to replace it for a while.
“As for the wooden columns, the policy that we have now is to replace it with tangible numbers more.”
The government has since amended the law to impose a 10 -year imprisonment period on the saboteurs of the electricity infrastructure. Herald
