There was a drama in the Supreme Court yesterday when Zimbabwe’s prisons and reform services failed to take advantage of Mike Chimome to trial of fraud without any official explanation.
Chimombe, who was not at any exhibition, had to be brought in later after the Supreme Court judge ordered Pisiayi KWenda to ZPCS to bring him to a afternoon session.
It was only discovered that Chimombe was sick after appointed lawyer Professor Lavler Madoco to postpone it to March 17.
Professor Madhuko revealed that Chimombe still needs another seven days to recover.
“Cemomb is fine, and a doctor has ordered that he should be accepted in bed for seven days starting from February 28.
Professor Madhuko said in his request: “Therefore, we are applying for the postponement of the matter, and it is necessary for us to monitor his condition in order to learn about his next available date.”
Judge Quonda later agreed to postpone the fraud trial until March 17, to start the trial.
From the beginning, the experiment was delayed with businessmen who made various applications.
