The Minister of Information, Jafran Musaire, says that the journalists should be constantly protected in Zimbabwe.
But he said that the call to overthrow a democratically elected government falls outside the limits of media freedom.
Speaking in the celebration of the third anniversary of 3ktv in the offices of Harari on Friday, Dr. Muswer stressed the importance of understanding the constitutional framework that governs media operations, with the nation’s progress towards vision 2030.
Article 61 of the constitution guarantees freedom of expression and the media, and Article 62 relates to access to information, yet the right to overthrow the legal government is given.
“We must be unambiguously clear with regard to the supreme law of the country; the right to spread the overthrow of a legitimate and democratic government that does not exist in our constitution. He said,” The freedom of the media and freedom of expression that we enjoy must warn with jealousy, and we must constantly protect journalists. “
Dr. Musuer affirmed that the Zimbabwe Media Committee and his ministry will continue to cooperate with journalists and the media to provide instructions to all the role of the media and facilitate their growth.
“However, while we support our constitutional commitment regarding freedom of expression, we must also realize that the growth of the media industry depends on morality, morals and real accuracy.
“We are our destiny engineers, and that is why the president has constantly emphasized ‘NYIKA Inovakwa New Vayo’ (a nation has been built by its people). Every member of the fourth estate bears this responsibility.”
Dr. Musuer said that the ethics of the media remained the basis for the press.
“It is an opportunity to verify that the sources of the information we create and use are reliable and ensure. This will ensure the continuation of the durability and growth of the media industry in a positive path.”
“As a government, we have implemented a set of legislative, political and infrastructure initiatives to support the multiplicity of media in our country, and we are seeking to inform, educate and entertain the nation.”
Dr. Musuer acknowledged that, with the government’s work on amendments to the broadcasting services law, it is considered a challenge that hindered the growth of the media industry.
However, what is the opponent?
“I had the opportunity to get to know the 3KTV studios. This is where technology is close to the development of human capital, in terms of miniature and modernization of our studios, with our progress towards a high -income community with residents with knowledgeable and informed.” Sunday Post
