GWeru Police officer Michael Jackson (32 years old) was sentenced to five years in prison for sexual intercourse with a minor.
Jackson appeared in front of Ghweiro’s regional judge, Mr. Christopher, a maturity, in the face of two charges of rape, but he was convicted of less sexual intercourse with a minor at the end of the state case.

According to the Zimbabwe law, consensual sexual intercourse with a minor between the ages of 12 and 16 criminal crimes under Article 70 (1) of the Criminal Code (blogging and reform) is considered.
This law aims to protect minors from sexual exploitation and abuse.
Mr. Murature sentenced Jackson to five years in prison before a two -year suspension, on condition of good behavior.
Public Prosecutor Talent Tadenyika told the court that Jackson is a policeman holding a rank of Constable and is currently stationed in the traffic department of GWeru.
He told the court that the complainant in this case was a 14 -year -old female event in the main ZRP camp, Ghweiro, who is with Jackson.
He said, “On October 28, 2022, at approximately 8 pm, the complainant arrived at the house from the outskirts of Windsor Park in Guero, where she was attending a party with her friends,” he said.
Mr. Tadenica told the court that the complainant arrived at the house and found that the doors were closed. She knocked on her parents’ door, she wanted to enter inside, but no one responded and during that time, Jackson was standing outside his house watching.
Jackson approached the girl and asked her to accompany him to the Milan family restaurant in the Central Commercial Zone. Mr. Tadenyika said:
He said that Jackson and the owner of the complaint arrived at Milan Restaurant, where he bought her burger and drink.
Mr. Tadenica said that Jackson drove his car and stopped it outside the Ghwayro Police Station and asked the complainant to come and sit on the front seat.
“The complainant went and sat on the front seat, and the accused person in the winner of her breasts began.
After action, Jackson drove the car to his place of residence after dropping the complaint at her home.
“The complainant found again the door closed and no one opened. Then I went to the accused’s house where she sought a place to sleep all night and was sexual intercourse with him,” said Mr. Tadenyika.
