Thirty-six-year-old musician Dorcas Vampi, wife of Mambo Duterre, has appeared in court accused of cheating a local politician out of US$16,000 in a botched car deal.
Vampi, who was arraigned before a Harare magistrate on Thursday to answer fraud charges, allegedly conspired with her brother to defraud the complainant after she lied that they were able to buy him a car in Botswana.
It is alleged that in September this year, the accused obtained information that the complainant was looking for a Toyota Hilux GD6 to purchase and had a budget of US$16,000.
