Self-proclaimed prophet Talent Madungwe has pleaded guilty to reckless driving and driving without a driving licence.
H Metro reports that Madungwe appeared before Epworth Magistrate, Tafadzwa Miti, who remanded the case to Monday for a pre-sentence hearing and sentencing.
The complainant is Rutendo Kwengo. Prosecutor Rutendo Nyamutswa said on August 6, at around 10am, Madungwe left his home along Airport Road and turned right onto the main road.
He struck Kwengo for his part, who was driving a Nissan NP300 single cab with registration number ACG 8313, on the same road they were heading on in the Harare Central Business District.
Quingo’s car sustained minor damage.
Madungwe was also driving without a license on the day in question and caused the accident.
The controversial prophet made his first appearance at Epworth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
He was remanded in custody until yesterday after the state indicated it intended to amend the papers before he could be properly arraigned in court.
Prosecutor Rutendo Nyamutswa sought the postponement.
Madungwe was one of the beneficiaries of Wicknell Chivayo’s Toyota Aqua donations and was reported to have obtained a driving license before receiving his gift.
