A gloomy atmosphere has gripped Bindura after five young girls died who were hit by a car in a horrific road accident on Saturday.

A girl was seriously injured in a traffic accident that occurred when a car veered off the road and ran over the girls.
Parents of children living in a rural Bindura district farm complex are traumatised.
The mother of one of the dead girls told ZBC News: “My daughter died in this accident, and I don’t even know how to feel or what to do.”
Another said: “My daughter died in the accident along with her nieces.”
Witness Mikerina Julius said the accident happened so quickly that she did not realize her young relatives had been killed.
“When I crossed the road, I saw the children and I crossed the road when I looked back and heard the car screech and it turned over and I reached the scene and started crying. I didn’t even realize that the children who died were my sisters,” she said.
Assistant Coordinator for the Development of the Bindura Region, Ms. Lydia Halabati, said that the Civil Protection Unit is working to mobilize assistance for the bereaved family.
She said, “As CPU Bindura district, we have compiled a report and sent it to the head office. We hope that the children will be buried by the government. We are deeply affected because all these girls are almost the same age and come from the same house. They were staying in their uncle’s house, so from The sad thing is that they were all staying in the same house.
Four of the girls, two aged 14 and two aged 13, died instantly, while the fifth, whose age is unknown, died while admitted to Bindura Hospital.
