Zanu PF Chikomba District Coordination Committee (DCC) Chairman Fenon Murengane has been nominated as the primary Maromo Chairman.

Muringane was selected last Tuesday at the Range offices in Chivhu by a three-member committee comprising Chief Nyoka, Chief Svosve and Chief Chikwizo. The ceremony was also attended by Chikumba District Development Coordinator Michael Mariga.

If he ascends the throne, Murengane will succeed the late President Maromo, who was born Augustine Mumbshura, father of the Minister of Health and Child Care, Douglas Mumbshura.

Murengani confirmed his nomination to The Mirror. But he said it was an ongoing process and declined to comment further.

Local businessman Kestri Mozana, who played Muringani’s nephew, told The Mirror that the process was peaceful, fair and inclusive.

“The selection process was peaceful and fair. Everyone was satisfied with the result,” said Kestri Mozana.
