VP Constantino Chiwenga says CCC supporters will receive drought relief food as everyone is suffering due to drought.
“Our country, like other members of the SADC region, is suffering from the effects of drought caused by the El Niño phenomenon. It has been a bad agricultural season with families unable to harvest anything useful in the fields. Therefore, our President, His Excellency Commander Emmerson Mnangagwa, bravely declared, No one will die of hunger. However, when we distribute food aid, there should be no discrimination in any way. We know that everyone needs help and those who distribute food aid should not distribute it on political grounds This should be apolitical and transparent and every Zimbabwean should benefit.
“In urban areas, we are distributing cash transfers to those who are suffering due to the drought we are currently experiencing. We are now working to increase the number of cash transfer beneficiaries, and even in rural areas, those who were mistakenly excluded will now be taken in when the beneficiary registration is completed.” “We are urging councilors and traditional leaders to help register all people in need of food assistance,” he said during the official commissioning of the Regina Siole Mission Primary School in Nyamaruba, Nyanga.
