
A gang targeting tourists booked into hostels along the Lower Zambezi River has been arrested in Chirundu.
The Herald reported that Zambian authorities recently arrested the suspects near the Lower Zambezi National Park where they were hiding after stealing from a hostel on the Zimbabwean side.
The suspects, who are yet to be identified, are reportedly from Kariba and were taking advantage of the falling water levels to cross the Zambezi River.
Aside from theft, the suspects will be charged with violating Zambian immigration laws.
Different brands and sizes of cameras were recovered and taken to Chirundu Police Station where their owners were called for identification.

Mashonaland West police spokesperson, Inspector Ian Kuhera, said police would issue a statement after gathering all the facts.
