President MGM Mnangagwa has said his administration will deal severely with economic saboteurs who thrive on greed and profit.
“Despite illegal sanctions, the effects of climate change and global economic turmoil, we are making significant progress across various sectors of our economy. The fact that the chronic attacks and outrageous lies of our critics have deliberately failed to divide our country or collapse our economy is a testament to the unity and resilience of the people of our great nation, Zimbabwe.
“Despite all the difficulties, our nation continues to rise and the ZANU-PF government is indeed opening up pathways for sustainable economic growth and development. I commend all citizens of this great land. Economic sabotage, speculative and anti-productive tendencies by those who thrive on greed and exploitation have no place in our country. Attacks on the economy to make the common people suffer are unacceptable and my government will protect the common people.”
“ZANU PF is the vanguard of the people’s revolution and as such we have the formidable task of responding effectively to the challenges, obstacles and contradictions that our nation may face at any given time. There can be absolutely no tolerance for inaction, procrastination or frivolous diversions. Boosting production, productivity and honest hard work in all sectors of the economy must be a loud and clear call to the general membership of the party,” he said.
“Furthermore, each and every one of us, here in the Politburo, and all members, have a sacred constitutional obligation to defend the unique character, principles and nature of our party, the Zimbabwe African National Union. Accordingly, I challenge the party to firmly oppose statements and actions that undermine or distort our correct line of revolution. All moves aimed at harming the interests of the people of our great homeland; and playing with our unity, social harmony, development, interests, sovereignty, security and overall national stability must be dealt with firmly.”
