Former Zimbabwean Zanu-PF youth leader Godfrey Tsenyangamu says he has set up a citizen task force to fight corruption.
“I am here to tell the people of Zimbabwe that it is time to come together to fight this menace of corruption. We tried that when we formed the Economic Liberation Front of Zimbabwe, but we realised that you cannot fight corruption effectively under the banner of a political party.
“It is a legally registered institution, and it can report any individual with legitimate authority. We will work to expose wrongdoing on a large scale. We do not care whether you are from this party or that party. We do not care whether you have the support of this powerful individual or that powerful individual. We will not fight against institutions.”
Last week, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga lamented the country’s high levels of corruption, saying vice posed a security threat.
