MONEY RITUALS LAND N’ANGA IN COURT newsdzeZimbabweNewsdzeZimbabwe

Chipinge n’anga is in court accused of cheating a customer out of 12,000 South African rand and 340 US dollars.

Kudakwashe Chinhara (22) from Chikwanda village under Chief Chivese in Chipinge appears before Shurugwi Magistrate Percy Mukumba.

He allegedly cheated Isaac Mudzinge (45) of Huai village, Chief Nhema in Shorugwe, with money after promising to perform some rituals for him to get some money from his employer.

Mudzengi is a truck driver for the South African company NR Group. He was injured at work in 2022 and did not receive compensation from the company. Then approach Chinhara to speed up the process.

Circumstances indicate that Mudzinge, who was based in South Africa, contacted Shinhara in April this year and told him that he wanted his employer to pay his promised compensation in 2022.

Chinhara ordered him to pay R1,200. Then he told him that his compensation would be paid within two days when he sent him the money.

Two days later, Mudzinge, who was in Zimbabwe, received a letter informing him that his employer had sent him compensation money via Mukuru. He went to withdraw money and was told that his message had been tampered with.

He then telephoned Chinhara who demanded US$70 to put Mukuru’s staff under the spell. He complied and sent him the money and again Mukuru staff told him the message was fake.

Chinhara again demanded US$110 to perform a ritual to remove the goblin that was bringing bad luck to Mudzinge. He demanded an additional US$300, and Mudzengi gave him property worth ZAR3,000.

He went on to demand more money to remove the spirits that were threatening to kill Mudzengi’s son, and that’s when Mudzengi reported him to the police. Only 200 riyals were recovered. Masvingo mirror
