CHOMBO FIGHTS TO KEEP FARM newsdzeZimbabweNewsdzeZimbabwe

Ignatius Chombo is not giving up on his farm and has appealed the ruling to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court ruled that the government could reduce his farm.

Chombo’s lawyer, Professor Livermore Madhuko, filed a notice of appeal and said his client was appealing the lower court’s ruling in its entirety.

Chombo insists that the Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, Anchius Jongoi Masuka, has no authority to cancel the 99-year lease under the Land Commission Act.

The farm was allocated to the former minister in 2001, after which a 99-year lease was agreed in 2006.
