A woman has been charged with child abuse after hitting her stepson.
Youkai Maisiri attacked her five-year-old son with wooden keys. She appeared before Chitungwiza Magistrate and pleaded not guilty. She was remanded in custody until May 21 for trial.
The court heard that Maisiri became angry after her son messed with himself in his sleep. Then the angry woman hit the child. A neighbor blew the whistle that led to the woman’s arrest.
