FOREX BLITZ IN FULL SWING, SAYS MINISTER newsdzeZimbabweNewsdzeZimbabwe

Finance Minister, Professor Mthuli Ncube, said the campaign against illegal forex deals will continue.

So far, 224 illegal money changers have been arrested and 90 bank accounts have been frozen. Professor Ncube told MPs that the government was pushing hard for ZiG to be accepted as a currency for transactions.

“The second issue is to create a huge demand for ZiG and we will soon announce the taxes that will be paid exclusively in ZiG.”

Professor Ncube said Zimbabweans had to preserve the value of ZiG because it was a vital component of the country’s quest to achieve its development goal of becoming an empowered upper-middle class economy by 2030.
