Christian Hamadziribe (28), who works as a pastor at Mutendi-run Zion Christian Church in Gokwe, was sentenced to nine months in prison for stealing two goats from the establishment.
Judge Grace Tubire commuted the sentence to 310 hours of community service at Mutendi Primary School on the condition that the accused does not commit a similar offense in the next five years.
Hamadziribe resides in a village called Sanction (Sancation is the name of one of Bishop Mutendi’s sons) which belongs to President Mutendi.
The crime was committed on May 1, 2024, and the accused was caught red-handed by Clever Mubindo, a security guard following a tip-off.
The state represented by Tatenda Mandeshona said in history at 4am, Mubindo received a report from Lacson Machela that Hamadziribe intended to steal some goats.
Acting on a report, Mabindo saw Hamadziribe taking the goats from the barn to deliver them to a customer and intercepted him before meeting the buyer.
Mabindo reported the matter to the police, which led to the arrest of Hamadziribe. Mirror walls
