A nurse was assaulted and stabbed to death on her doorstep in the lake.
Acting Manicaland Provincial Police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka, confirmed to the Manica Post that Ivy Mangwanya (40), who was stationed at the Nirutanga clinic, had returned from Masvingo when the attacker pounced.
“I can confirm the tragic incident that occurred on April 28 in Mangwanya village under the command of Chief Nyirotenga in Buhera, when a local nurse, Ms. Ivy Mangwanya, who had just arrived from Masvingo, was stabbed in the throat with a sharp object by an unknown assailant. The suspect snatched a phone He carried a Vodacom bag and a bag containing various clothes and disappeared from the scene, leaving the victim to bleed to death.
A bag, suspected to have been stolen from Ms Magwanya, was found along with some clothes. The body of the deceased was taken to Murambinda Mission Hospital for post-mortem examination. “The suspect remains at large and we appeal to the public who have information regarding the whereabouts of the unknown suspect to report them to any nearest police station,” Assistant Inspector Chinyoka said.
