Police officer, Pamala Nqobisitha Williams (36), faces a sodomy charge after an alleged confrontation with a man pretending to be a woman.
According to a police note obtained by CITE, on January 19, 2024, at around 10 p.m., Williams, who works as a public servant, met Melosi Ngwenya (21) at Munhinga Bar in Manresa.
Ngwenya, who identified himself as “Melissa,” agreed to spend the night with Williams at his residence.
“The next morning, after Ngwenya had left, Williams discovered that US$200 was missing from the US$500 he had in his wallet. He filed a theft report at ZRP Highlands CR 146/01/24. Efforts to locate Ngwenya were unsuccessful , resulting in the list being closed as undetected (incomplete A148/24),” the note said.
On May 7, Williams met Ngwenya again at the same bar. He informed the police, which led to Ngwenya’s arrest.
The next day, Ngwenya was brought to Rotten Row Magistrates’ Court to face a charge of theft. However, before he was brought to trial, authorities discovered that Ngwenya was a man pretending to be a woman.
“Ngwenya was released on bail for theft. “A recommendation was made to open a criminal case for sodomy against both the complainant, Pamala Nqobisitha Williams, and the accused, Melusi Ngwenya,” the memorandum details.
“Both parties were brought to ZRP Highlands, where a complete sodomy case docket was compiled under ZRP Highlands RRB 5941669.”
The duo is expected to appear in court on Thursday. Site
