A bus driver has been found guilty of reckless driving after colliding with a motorcyclist. Peter Nyakudiano (52) appeared before the Mutare Magistrate’s Court and was found guilty.
The court heard that on May 25, Nyakodiano, who works for Bold Cutter Bus Services, was driving a bus from Harare to Mutare with 13 passengers on board. He collided with the driver who was traveling in the same direction. The motorcyclist was injured and his motorcycle was damaged.
Prosecutors said the driver failed to exercise proper caution, was driving at excessive speed and failed to stop or act reasonably when the collision occurred.
He was fined US$500 or imprisoned for four months.
