Mobobobo, a term usually associated with men seeking “supernatural remote” sex with women, was the focus of a bizarre case in Bulawayo when a salesman working at the Rinkini long-distance bus station sensationally accused his female colleague of having these unsavory supernatural powers.
He suspected she was using them to have sex with him at a distance, satisfying her desires without his knowledge. Yes, you read that right, Lindelani Mathema (31) from Mzilikazi suburb claimed that Qavilani Ncube (46) from Imkhandini suburb used Mopopobo on him.
Mathema reportedly claimed that whenever he was near Ncube, he would suffer from “involuntary arousal and ejaculation”.
Mubobobo is the act of engaging in occult sexual intercourse without physical contact with another person using supernatural means. It is figuratively referred to as “Bluetooth sex” because the victim and perpetrator do not have to be in physical contact.
Both Mathema and Ncube are self-employed at the Renkini Long Distance Bus Terminus. After being accused of using “Bluetooth sex” on Mathema, Ncube flew into a rage and assaulted Mathema in the face with an empty box.
Details of the dramatic incident are that on April 22, at about 7am at Rinkini long distance bus station, Mathema accused Ncube of using Mobobobo on him. This accusation sparked a misunderstanding between the two. At the height of the argument, Ncube grabbed an empty box and hit Mathema on the left cheek. Ncube went to slap Mathema before punching him in the face.
Mathema, whose face was swollen from the attack, reported the matter to the police, which led to Ncube’s arrest. Ncube was brought before Bulawayo magistrate, Vakai Douglas Chikwekwe, charged with assault.
She pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a fine of US$100 or its equivalent in local currency at the bank’s prevailing exchange rate on the date of payment. If you fail to pay, you face 30 days in jail. Site
