A procurement and administrative officer of Bindura Hospital has appeared in court on charges of stealing poly tubing and a two-horsepower submersible pump from the institution.
The couple allegedly took the property to Mhangura for use in gold prospecting operations.
Takudzwa Bruce Chirimuta, Director of Health Services, and Peter Prince Matika, Procurement Officer, appeared before the Regional Magistrate, Mr. Tinashe Ndukira, to face theft charges.
They were held on $100 bail each and will return to court on May 15.
The court heard that between August 2022 and September 2024, the accused conspired to steal poly pipes and a submersible pump.
