A mother of five is fighting for her life after she was stabbed with a knife by Okabe in a custody battle.
Litwin Masonda was rushed to Sally Mugabe Hospital after her ex-husband, Brian Jangua, stabbed her several times on the shoulders and armpits.
Brian visited Litwin at her parents’ home and confronted her, accusing her of denying him access to their five children.
He stabbed her repeatedly and fled the scene. The two separated sometime in 2022 and Letwin took custody of the children.
Litwin’s mother, Clara Madzoramhandi, 51, told H-Metro that she is responding well to treatment.
“We thank God that Litwin is recovering well. She said that her ex-husband wanted to kill her.
Harare Provincial Police spokesperson, Inspector Lukemore Chakanza, confirmed the case and appealed for information that could lead to Brian’s arrest.
“Police are investigating a case involving a woman and her ex-husband in Epworth.
“The accused resides in Mbare and reportedly visited his ex-wife to demand custody of the children.
“As the misunderstanding occurred, the accused took an Okabe knife from his trouser pocket and followed the complainant to her room where he stabbed her several times on her shoulders and armpits before running away, leaving the complainant lying on the floor in pain.
“Multiple wounds were observed on the complainant’s body and a bloodstained Okabe knife used to stab the complainant was found in the complainant’s room.
“The complainant was referred to Sally Mugabe Hospital for treatment,” Insp Chakanza said. h metro
