A jilted lover who allegedly almost killed his ex-girlfriend after the relationship ended has appeared in court charged with attempted murder.
40-year-old Tishafa Mogwagwa from Harare is accused of trying to kill his ex-girlfriend after she ended their relationship.
Mogoagwa and the complainant allegedly lived together for seven years, but the complainant decided to end the relationship.
The court heard that the accused followed the complainant to the bus stop as she tried to leave and stabbed her with a knife.
The complainant bled profusely before a Good Samaritan took her to the hospital.
The accused was detained pending investigation.
Meanwhile, two security personnel stationed at the World Bank offices in Harare appeared in court accused of stealing 500 liters of diesel from a backup generator.
Striker Kwanzarwa, 43, and Peter Kutama, 34, have been remanded in custody awaiting bail.
It is alleged that while on duty, the two conspired to steal diesel and continued to drain the backup generator. zbc
