A 33-year-old Chinese man has appeared in court accused of stealing US$72,000 from his employer, which he later lost due to gambling.
Yo Yo was facing charges of theft when he appeared before Harare Magistrate, Ms Apollonia Marutia, who remanded him in custody until tomorrow.
The complainant is Osaka Private Limited.
The state’s case is that on unknown dates in June 2023 through April 2024, Yu was working as a sales representative and was assigned to sell tires to different people.
However, Yue was not handing over cash to the company and the audit was conducted in April 2024.
After an audit, it was found that $72,000 was missing.
