A 44-year-old man from Nkolumane tragically committed suicide on Saturday while his two children were enjoying themselves at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF).
The deceased has been identified as Tanatsika Tsega.
Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abedneko Ncube confirmed the incident.
“On April 26, 2024, at approximately 9 a.m., Tsega’s children, a 15-year-old male juvenile and a 13-year-old female juvenile, left the home for ZITF grounds and left him alone at home. Tsega’s daughter arrived home at approximately 5 p.m. “I went to her father’s bedroom to check on him. I found him hanging from the ceiling supports with his neck tied with an electrical wire.”
“Three suicide letters addressed to his relatives were found, highlighting the challenges he was facing since the death of his wife, who died years ago, prompting him to commit suicide. The body was taken to United Hospital Bulawayo mortuary for forensic examination.
Inspector Ncube urged members of the public to seek counseling whenever they face challenges instead of resorting to suicide. Site
