A man lost his wife to a relative shortly after paying lobola.
King Gombera, 23, of Jorof, took his wife, Mimori Makomo, for blood tests, shortly after the lobola payment, and learned that she was indeed pregnant.
Her uncle, Jeffy Cafaro, who is in his 30s, was reported to be responsible for the pregnancy.
Jayvi then abandoned his family, took Mimori, and left Gurov for Mount Darwin, where they took refuge after hiding their relationship.
King told H-Metro that his in-laws recovered part of his lobola after Mimori revealed her adulterous affair with her uncle.
“I have not yet recovered from the pain I went through,” King said.
“If I had butterflyed her before I paid the lobola, I might have had a pregnant wife.
“She never told me she was dating another man besides revealing that she had been raped by one of her sister’s husbands.
“For me, I said it’s not your fault, I just want it to be like this.
“I didn’t know she was dating her mother’s brother.”
He added: “Her parents accepted my lobola and Mimori disappeared from home shortly after the lobola.
“She went to Mount Darwin during the night with her uncle and was tracked down until Mimori was forced to return home.
“After she revealed who was responsible for her pregnancy, the family returned part of my money.
“Getting lobola back is not enough considering the pain you suffered, the time you wasted, as well as the trust you gave to Memory.”
Uncle Jeffy has not yet returned to his family. A source revealed that the memory is 15.
King said she told him she was 17 years old
