
Kenyan President Dr William Ruto has arrived at the Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport in Bulawayo, ahead of his official opening of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) on Saturday.
President Ruto’s presidential plane, Harambee One, landed at 4.10pm and was received by President Mnangagwa.
The two presidents headed to the reading hall, after which a gun salute was given, followed by the singing of the Kenyan national anthem. President Ruto was then invited to inspect the guard of honor that preceded him.
President Ruto completed the inspection of the guard of honour, and President Mnangagwa joined him in the reading ceremony, after which the Zimbabwean national anthem was sung.
The two leaders then left the reading room and walked down the red carpet to greet the dignitaries who included Vice President Kembo Mohadi, Minister of State for Bulawayo Provincial Affairs Judith Ncube, ministers, service chiefs, ZETF Chairman Mr. Busisa Moyo, and members. In a brief speech, President Mnangagwa said: “I know you have been here for a very long time, and I want to thank you for your patience. Zimbabweans and Kenyans are one people, that’s why Zimbabweans live in Kenya.
