A Harare man has approached the civil court to demand repayment of US$11,700 he lost on a murky United Kingdom (UK) visa. And sponsorship deal certificate.
Samson Juneau cited Nyasha Patience Mandeya of Borrowdale as a defendant in his summons.
In the arraignment through his lawyer Tinashe Zinto of Zinto, Chivandire and Mavhaire Law Chambers, Juno is demanding his money back and 1% interest as of April 1 this year.
According to court papers, sometime in August 2023, Juno and Mandya entered into an agreement, whereby the latter would help him obtain bail certificates and a UK visa.
Mandya was allegedly supposed to receive this money within three months after receiving the payment.
Juno reported that he paid Mandya US$9,700 on August 26, 2023. He made another payment of US$2,000 on August 31.
However, Mandya failed to fulfill the terms of the agreement.
On January 15 of this year, Mandya acknowledged the debts and pledged to pay them by March 31, but failed. Newsday
