Midlands Regional Affairs and Delegation Minister Owen Ncube has called on law enforcement agencies to deal ruthlessly with perpetrators of violence and other crimes to ensure Zimbabwe remains a peaceful nation.
Minister Ncube made the remarks during the commissioning of a US$150,000 Zanu-PF office building in Shorugwe, built by local mining company, Chen Xi Chengetai Investments.

Minister Ncube said Zimbabwe had managed to shake off political and economic sabotage by its critics to become one of the fastest growing economies in the SADC region.
“To this end, the new system continues to attract investment worldwide in sectors where we have comparative and competitive advantages such as mining, agriculture, manufacturing, tourism and construction, with the Midlands having the highest GDP growth in the country,” he said.
Minister Ncube said Cheng Xi Chengetai Investments’ investments in Shorugwe are a testament to investors’ confidence in the country.
He said the government had taken a bold decision to implement ease of doing business to accelerate private sector-led growth and socio-economic development.
“Considering the above, Chen Xi Chengetai Investments, through heap filtration, will contribute significantly to employment, technology transfer and the realization of a US$12 billion mining economy by 2025.”
He said the company is implementing laudable large-scale empowerment projects, including the construction of a community empowerment milling center in Shorugwe worth US$30,000.
“Despite the illegal economic sanctions imposed on our country by the United States and its Western allies, the Second Republic under President Mnangagwa is implementing a large number of landmark, high-impact projects.
