TRIPLE NATIONAL HEROES BURIAL SET FOR MONDAY newsdzeZimbabweNewsdzeZimbabwe

There will be a triple burial of National Heroes Cde Nash Dzimiri, Brigadier General Shadreck Vezha and Heroine Cde Tsitsi Jadagu at National Heroes Acre on Monday.

Both Cdes Dzimiri and Jadagu died after a short illness while Brigadier General Vezha died in a road accident.

Yesterday, President Mnangagwa chaired an extraordinary session of the Zanu-PF political bureau at the ruling party headquarters, which focused on how to jointly bury the three heroes.

Speaking at a press conference after the Politburo session, Zanu-PF spokesperson, Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa, said the awarding of the National Hero title to the trio was recognition of their contribution to the country.

“Today we held an extraordinary session of the Politburo of Zanu-PF as President Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa saw fit to hold this extraordinary meeting on a very solemn occasion where the government, party and people of Zimbabwe in general have lost their lives. Strong patriots,” he said.

“The burial will take place on Monday because there are now two heroes and a heroine, so we need to organize properly and coordinate between the families. We felt that we wanted to give these two heroes and heroine a proper burial with proper attendance by the people of Zimbabwe.

On the award to Commander Dzimeri, Ambassador Mutsvangwa said the Politburo had noted his enormous and undeniable contributions.

“Commander Nash Dzimeri had this distinguished revolutionary career as he fought at the front, was also trained abroad in specialized areas of military warfare and was one of the confidants at the highest level of the senior leadership of the ZANLA forces, especially in enforcing discipline. . .

“He was also an intelligence officer who gave Africa one of its most impressive security organizations and which became the basis of the African Security Council Federation,” he said.

Ambassador Mutsvangwa said Mr Vega’s bestowal was not only earned but also served as proof that dedication and patriotism would always be rewarded under President Mnangagwa.

“One of them, a promising young general, recently promoted, who was eyeing a more prestigious position as Zimbabwe’s military attaché in the sister republic of Tanzania, was Brigadier General Shadrick Vega. He was involved in an accident between two military vehicles in the Kwekwe battlefields area.

“The party and the government saw it fit to make a recommendation to the Politburo and the Politburo as appropriate and the President agreed to declare Brigadier General Shadric Vega a national hero.

“We want him to be an example of a dedicated patriot to the youth, both girl and boy, and that acts of courage and patriotic commitment to the Republic of Zimbabwe will always be duly recognised,” he said.

Cde Mutsvangwa said the Politburo learned of Cde Jadagu’s death today before the start of the special session.

He described her as a dedicated cadre who the Politburo saw fit to bestow the honor of National Hero status on.

“Unfortunately, while the President was coming to deliberate on these two male cadres, we received news that Leader Grace Tsitsi Gadago, a longstanding cadre of the party, belonged to the Women’s League. She had passed away, and Harare Province saw fit to request that she be declared a National Hero, and he agreed The President in due consultation with his Politburo on Harare Province’s request,” said Cde Mutsvangwa.

“So Cde Gare Tsitsi Jadagu will be buried with the other two, so we have a triple burial at Heroes Acre for these three outstanding patriots after they were all given national hero status.

Cde Mutsvangwa said Cde Jadagu was at the forefront of canvassing votes for Zanu-PF so that the ruling party could wrest two seats from Muzorewa in the urban areas.

“She was one of the organizers of the 1980 elections that managed to make ZANU-PF penetrate the urban areas,” he said.

The message conferring on her the highest honor was conveyed at her residence in Chitungwiza by the party’s Treasurer-General, Commander Patrick Chinamasa, last night.

Briefing mourners, Cde Chinamasa said that when Cde Jadagu’s situation was brought up at the extraordinary meeting yesterday, there was consensus that she deserved it.

Cde Chinamasa said it had been agreed that she would be buried next Monday at National Heroes Acre with two other national heroes. Announce
