A Mushikashika driver and his commander, who kidnapped two traffic police officers in the falls and then came together to beat them up, have been arrested.
They are now ready to face the music due to their ferocious attack on the officers.
Kudakwashe Chigerigomo, 23, and Emmanuel Denhire, 18, from Kwadzana kidnapped Constables Godknose Maritauna, 36, and Isaac Mangokoto, 33, stationed at the Mbare Traffic Police Station.
The police arrested the duo.
The two police officers were at an intersection in the Falls, where they were deployed to maintain order at the busy intersection.
They arrested Kodakwashi, who was driving a gray Nissan AD (6,658 years old), for transporting passengers and operating his service without an operator’s licence.
Emanuel was on board as conductor of the trains.
The two policemen took the car driven by Kodakwashe and ordered him to drive to Mbare Traffic Police Station at Mastipes in Hubli.
Kodakwashi drove the car eastbound, along Forbes Road, where he struck the wall of a prefabricated house, forcing the car to stop.
Kudakwashi and Emmanuel then turned on the two police officers and began assaulting the policemen.
They used unknown objects and hit the policemen several times on the head and face.
The assault was recorded and posted on social media by an unknown person.
The two police officers were eventually able to arrest them and requested support from their office.
They sustained head injuries as a result of the attack and were taken to Sally Mugabe Hospital.
