A fake police officer who was daring enough to terrorize motorists along Chinhoyi Street in Harare has been arrested while wearing full police uniform.
21-year-old Munashe Mosekiwa, also known as Munimu, was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate Apollonia Marutia, who ordered him remanded in custody.
The court heard that on Saturday, at the corner of Chinhoyi Street and Robert Mugabe Street, officers from the police anti-corruption unit, who were on patrol, received a report that Mosekiwa was terrorizing motorists along Chinhoyi Street.
The police took action and identified him wearing full police uniform and carrying a button baton.
The Anti-Corruption Squad intercepted him, and after checking him, it turned out that he was just a civilian impersonating a police officer.
