A Harare woman has lost more than US$10,000 to a car dealer. Clara Moroiwa was allegedly conned by Pedzisai Matsvaru sometime last year so that he could import a new car for her.
Clara was tempted to pay US$10,400, which included customs duty payments, but nothing was delivered. Then I decided to file a report with the police.
Bedzisai, of Arithmetic Logistics, was arrested on Monday and is expected to appear in court today.
Harare Provincial Police spokesperson, Inspector Lukemore Chakanza, confirmed the arrest.
“Police have arrested a suspected car dealer on fraud charges. Insp Chakanza said the suspect is expected to appear in court soon.
