Two suspected armed robbers were arrested last week for stealing R10,000 and a mobile phone from Rockman Investments belonging to Chiredzi South MP, Joel Sithole.
Masvingo police spokesperson, Inspector Kudakwashe Diwa, confirmed the arrest to The Mirror.
“I confirm the arrest of two suspects, Tobias Chidafinzi (54) of Musarere Village, Chief Nyakunhwa, Zaka, and Leonard Muzenda (20) of Lesimati Village, Chief Chilonga, Chiredzi,” Dhua said.
On March 24, 2024, Tario Mafodia (27), a shop owner at Rockman Investments, retired to bed. At 2am, the two suspects broke into Mafodya’s bedroom and entered where they ordered her at gunpoint to hand over money.
They got 10,000 riyals and a mobile phone. A report was drawn up regarding the incident, and investigations were conducted that led to his arrest. The police received information from citizens and found a number of stolen items and firearms used by the suspects. Masvingo mirror
