Chinhoyi Mayor Owen Charoza was this morning involved in a serious traffic accident near the Mabinga Escarpment on his way to Harare to conduct council business.
While Mayor Charozza and his driver escaped death due to a moustache, a council-owned Nissan Harbody was badly damaged after it was hit from behind by a transport truck as it was making way for a car in front of it.
Council spokesperson, Mr Tishona Mlozi, confirmed the incident but was unable to shed further light while regional police spokesperson, Inspector Ian Kuhera, did not obtain information from police on the ground.
Mayor Charoza, who was taken to the Muturashanga Clinic to receive medical care, suffered injuries to his hand, chest and neck. Announce
