Madzibaba Ismail’s first wife says her ex-husband is a hypocrite who does one thing and preaches another to “brainwash” his army of followers.
Tendai Mukombe has eight children with Madzbaba Ismail.
Two of their children are late, while four of them live with their father in Canaan.
She stays with her two sons.
Their marriage collapsed when they fell out after the “King of Canaan” took a second, younger wife.
She said she only knew Madzbaba Ismail’s second wife and did not know the other seven.
She now lives in extreme poverty in her rural home in Murehwa.
Mukumbi said her four daughters are married but she has not received any lobola because Madzbaba Ismail banned the practice.
However, she said Madzbaba Ismail paid for it in full and obtained birth certificates for all their eight children.
Birth certificates are not allowed at the Madzbaba Ismail Shrine.
“I have not received any lobola from my in-laws since Madzibaba Ismail abolished the lobola custom.
“But he took all my wealth until my father and mother wore clothes and ate all the dowry.
“Madzbaba Ismail obtained birth certificates for all his children with me.
“It is my prayer for Madzibaba Ismail that he repents, takes care of all his children and is released from prison forever.”
Madzibaba banned Ismail Mukombe from receiving any kind of support from him, his church, or any of her children, after she refused to support his church’s faith.
“My life has not been good since the coronavirus outbreak in March 2020,” she told H-Metro.
“This is the time he left me, after a misunderstanding about his decision to marry his second wife.
“I refused to go to Nyabira and said I will not leave my home, I will die here.
“My marital problems haunted me to the point that I almost took my life, but my neighbors urged me to continue praying.”
She claimed that her rural house was put up for sale by Madzbaba Ismail one day.
“Some house seekers were even sent here to see if they could buy this place. I asked for mercy and they understood my problem.”
She claims that she endured so much suffering that she contemplated suicide on a number of occasions.
“I went through unspeakable suffering,” she said. “Do you remember the time when Madzbaba Ismail was arrested, following the Buderero incident, which ended with him being sent to prison.
“He was arrested at that house here in the village after we had suffered so much during our stay in Buderero.
He was imprisoned and I had to take care of the children alone. He was imprisoned while I was breastfeeding our last born and the baby died while he was in prison. Upon his release, Madzbaba Ismail caused me more pain when he took another wife.
She said the marriage caused her a great deal of suffering and she decided to stop going to Madzbaba Ismail’s church.
“I had to join another Johan Masoi Yichanu because I was being mocked and my children were not getting support.
“Madzbaba Ismail convinced the children that he would not take care of them if they stayed with me.” h metro
