A police officer facing charges of ruining a marriage suffered another embarrassing moment when a judge ordered her to leave the courtroom, remove her uniform and put on her civilian uniform.
However, after she was ordered to leave the courtroom to change her uniform, Tshepo Mukwase did not return. Mukwasi reportedly based at Tomlinson Depot in Harare has been sued for US$5 000,000 early this year by Yokai Pfumbirai, who claimed she was “madly” in love with her husband.
Pfumbrai got $5
000 in the lawsuit she filed against Mukwasi on January 9. However, Pvombirai said her competitor refused to provide her home address, making it difficult to serve her a court summons to pay, and then her application for a garnishment order.
As a result, Bulawayo Magistrate Phakai Chikwekwe granted Pvombirai’s application for a US$200 detention order, but for a reduced amount of US$75.
“I obtained a ruling in my favor on January 9,” Pvombirai said in her founding testimony. The defendant is supposed to pay me a total of US$5,000 divided into US$2,500 as compensation for the injury, insult and indignity I suffered as a result of the adultery and US$2,500 as compensation for the loss of consortium (the intangible benefits of the relationship).”
Pvombirai said her competitor refused to provide her home address, making it difficult to inform her of the court summons to pay the amount. While Pfumbirae was able to enforce the summons at the workplace, she expected challenges as Mukwasi reportedly avoided receiving it. Pfumbiai stated that the attachment order was the only viable option to secure payment from Mukwasi. B metro
