Ten people attending a funeral at a house in Greendale, Harare, lost US$800, €300 and 30 assorted gold and silver rings to five robbers who attacked them last night.
The robbers were armed with nail cutters, a catapult and wooden sticks when they attacked the victims.
National Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi He said in a statement: “Police in the Highlands are investigating a case of house robbery that occurred in Greendale, Harare on 6 March 2024, where five unidentified male suspects who were armed with nail cutters, catapults and wooden sticks attacked 10 victims who were attending a funeral.

And 300 euros from one of the victims before they raided the house and stole 30 various gold and silver rings worth 41,800 US dollars.
Meanwhile, police in Mvurwi are investigating another case of robbery that occurred at Tsabatu Farm on March 5, 2024, at around 11:30pm, where six suspects armed with sticks attacked three farm workers and stole 36 goats and 11 sheep.
The suspects loaded the stolen items into an unregistered white Mitsubishi car and drove off.
The police appeal to anyone with information that may assist them in investigations to contact the nearest police station.
