The Labor Court has rejected an appeal by 300 former Air Zimbabwe workers who were challenging their cuts four years ago.
Workers who were dismissed after the notorious Zuva Petroleum ruling in 2015 successfully appealed the decision in the Supreme Court in 2020 and were reinstated with full benefits.
However, the plane placed them on unpaid leave. While they were on forced leave, the aircraft was placed into administration under the Overleveraged Insolvent Companies Reconstruction Act Chapter 24:27.
The plane then began a retrenchment process for workers in March 2021 and paid them the final minimum benefits under labor law.
The workers appealed the decision to the National Air Transport Industry Employment Council and lost. They took the matter to the Labor Court for appeal. Announce
