A Great Zimbabwe University security guard who went missing after going fishing on Wednesday last week was found dead on Friday.
Masvingo Provincial Police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Bright Sembe, confirmed the matter to The Mirror.
The circumstances are that Mishek Mwandi (41) of Mashakash Street in Mushiki A left home to go fishing along the Mushiki River at 7am on 28 February 2024.
He did not return home by 8:30 pm and his wife, Monica Chicava (40), called him but his phone was not available. A report was filed but search teams found only fishing rods, fishing worms and his bag at the side of a swimming pool along the Mochiki River.
On Friday, police found Mwandi’s body floating in the river and did not show any injuries.
The body was taken to Masvingo Regional Hospital for autopsy. Masvingo mirror
