The Zimbabwe Newspaper Group has reshuffled senior editorial staff at its corporate titles in a move aimed at strengthening its position as the country’s largest integrated media house.
In a statement yesterday, Zimpapers CEO, Mr Pikiray Dikitiki, said The Sunday Mail editor Victoria Rozvidzo has been appointed editor of The Herald, becoming the first woman to be editor of the flagship newspaper.
She replaces Hatred Zenenga who has moved to Bulawayo to edit The Sunday News.
Darlington Musarrwa, deputy editor of the Sunday Mail, takes over from the Sunday Mail.
Manica Post editor Wendy Nyakorirwa-Matindi has been appointed deputy editor of the Sunday Mail.
Cletus Moshanwani became editor of the Manica Post.
Sunday News editor Limukani Ncube has been appointed editor of B-Metro, replacing Tumeliso Makhurane who left Zimpapers.
H-Metro’s deputy editor-in-chief, Dingelizwe Ntuli, has been appointed deputy editor-in-chief of the Chronicle.
Ruzvidzo joined The Herald in 1993 and rose to become the newspaper’s business editor. In 2012, she was appointed managing editor of the Herald. In 2018, she became the first editor-in-chief of the Sunday Mail, a position she held until her recent appointment.
Musarurwa joined Zimpapers in 2006 and rose through the ranks to become deputy editor of The Sunday Mail. He previously served as Assistant Editor at The Sunday Mail, News Editor at The Sunday Mail and Deputy News Editor at The Herald.
Machnawani joined the Manica Post in January 2002 and became news editor in 2005, a position he held until his recent appointment.
Ncube was appointed editor of the Sunday News in September 2015 after editing B-Metro for a number of years.
Nyakureru-Matinde joined Zimpapers in 2013 as assistant editor of the Sunday Mail.
