The father of the late Murberlesingh Ali Farai Ali expressed his disbelief at the manner in which his daughter was killed.
“It really hurts my heart that my daughter was killed, cut into pieces like a chicken,” he said.
She died a very painful death. Morbilising was a hard worker; “She built this house herself.”
He recounted the last conversation he had with Moreblessing where she revealed her plans for the future.
“Before she was killed, she phoned me and told me that her husband wanted to finish paying the lobola,” he said.
“We never imagined she was about to leave us.”
Her mother, Judith Chisiwa, said she was still in shock.
“We are still demanding answers,” she said.
“We wonder how they killed her.” We were shocked; A very humble and loving daughter was taken from us. It is very painful. “I hope and pray that my daughter will finally rest in peace.”
Wellington, Ali’s brother, said the family was harassed after Morbilisingh’s murder.
“The truth must be told so we can find peace and closure,” Wellington said.
“Shortly after hearing that Morbilisingh had been killed, we were harassed and assaulted after we gathered to mourn her.
“I will not mention people’s names, but what I want to say is that there are evil and heartless people.”
“I still have a lot of questions,” Ali’s daughter, Nyasha, said.
“We arranged to go to the farm via phone conversation. I didn’t know that was the last time I would talk to her.”
The family’s lawyer Sikhala pledged to seek justice for the family.
“The bones of Reverend Ali, who were buried today (yesterday), will rise again,” Sikhala said.
“Her death was not in vain. She will certainly have a role to play in the future politics of this country.”
“But the lesson we have all learned is that we will never again lose our lives over political differences.”
Sikhala thanked Ali’s family for standing by him while he was in prison. The family pledged not to bury Ali until Sikhala was released. standard
