The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission on Wednesday arrested an officer of Agretex in Makonde district on charges of criminal abuse of power.
Ini Murongo, an Agritex supervisor in Wards 3, 5 and 7 in Makonde, is accused of fraudulently recommending the release of agricultural inputs under the ARDA joint venture program for contract farming to one Nodwell Manuel who is not a farmer.
ARDA seized 20 tons of compound D fertilizers and herbicides after Manuel obtained agricultural inputs and sold them on the black market.
Murongo appeared in Chinhoyi District Court on February 28, 2024 and was remanded in custody until March 19 on US$100 bail. Announce
