A 37-year-old man was found dead on Sunday in a forest near Birshinov Bridge after he had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl he first met at a bus stop.
Kudakwashe Magaya Mushayi was found dead by a passerby after he allegedly died while having a quickie with the teenager.
There were no obvious injuries on his body and all parts of his body were intact.
The police have since launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of Mashaei’s death.
Acting Manicaland Provincial Police spokesman, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka, could neither confirm nor deny the incident, saying he was yet to obtain more precise details of what happened.
However, according to a police note in possession of The Weekender, Detective Freeman Asima told the police that while he was walking along a path on his way to his garden on February 25, he discovered the late Moshae lying on the ground. Under a tree.
Asima later returned using the same route around 6pm and realized that the body was still on the ground with no signs of life.
A report was filed regarding the incident on the same day, and the police arrived at the scene.
Police found Mashaye’s body facing down with his gray shorts pulled up halfway.
Initial investigations into this matter revealed that on February 25, Mashaei met a 17-year-old girl (name withheld) at Birshinov Bridge.
The teenager was searching for her boyfriend, known as Webster, who promised to pay her bus fare under a pre-payment agreement.
The teen tried to call Webster on his cell phone number, but he could not be reached.
Stranded, she shared her ordeal with the late Mosharu, who wandered into the Mosharu bus stop at Birshenov Bridge.
Mashai allegedly promised to pay the teen the $3 bus fare for her ride home in exchange for sex.
The girl allegedly agreed to this.
“The deceased had now made arrangements with the girl. In the afternoon, the two got into a car and were dropped off near the Birshenov Bridge Hotel. They went into the bush and became intimate.
“However, during the intimate relationship, the deceased fell and became unconscious.
“The teenager tried to provide assistance to no avail. Out of fear, she left the deceased on the ground and returned to Mosharu Bus Station where she met Buster,” the police note said.
The police were able to track down the girl and led her to the scene of the accident, where no foreign objects were found.
The teenager revealed to the police that she had an intimate relationship with Mashaei before he collapsed and lost consciousness.
There was a black wallet on the floor containing US$1 and US$1,000, while a brown bazooka radio was placed next to Mashaye’s body. There was a blue towel on a tree trunk.
