A local pastor lost his Honda Fit, which he left parked at a home in Stoneridge Park after it ran out of gas Tuesday night.
Pastor Turay Tembo (38) of Rise and Shine Ministries was reportedly asked to leave his car at the home of 44-year-old Joseph Musa when his fuel tank ran dry at around 9pm.
Tembo removed the battery and handed it to Moses, promising to return the next day.
However, when Tembo returned the next day, he found the car missing and reported it to the police.
Harare Provincial Police spokesperson, Inspector Lukemore Chakanza, confirmed that police were investigating the theft.
“Police are investigating a car theft in Stoneridge Park,” Insp Chakanza said.
“The complainant turned off the ignition, took the battery out of the car and closed all the doors and windows except one window, which was broken.
“At approximately 11am on February 21, the complainant returned home intending to collect his car, but when he arrived, he noticed that it was not there.
“He phoned the homeowner to find out where his car was and was told he thought he had taken his car,” Insp Chakanza said.
The value of the vehicle was set at $3,000.H Metro
