“ZRP reports that 20-year-old Tinutunda Tatenda Nneka was arrested in connection with a murder case that occurred at Westin Shopping Centre, Chigoto, on January 3, 2024, in which 35-year-old police officer Elisha Munengirwa died.
“The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim once in the lower left arm with a homemade knife before stealing a Tecno Camon mobile phone and fleeing the scene. He added that the victim succumbed to his injuries.
On Tuesday, Chigoto CID investigators acted on information received and recovered the stolen mobile phone from a local person, leading to the arrest of the suspect.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, police in Ruwa are appealing for information that could lead to the arrest of Wellington Musungani and Willard Musungani who are being sought in connection with a theft case that occurred at a business along Damba Road, Ruwa, on Tuesday. .
The suspects allegedly attacked the victim, a company accountant, before stealing US$10,000 and a mobile phone.
