TEACHER FAILS TO SEND CHILD TO SCHOOL newsdzeZimbabweNewsdzeZimbabwe

A teacher from Murehwa was yesterday dragged to court because he failed to send his seven-year-old child to school, with his estranged wife demanding maintenance.

The two appeared before Harare magistrate Minal Narottam.

Felicitas Darangwa told the court that she was tired of supporting her minor child with Lincoln Munengirirwa alone, while demanding US$200 from her ex-husband.

However, Munengirirwa said he could only pay US$50 because he had other responsibilities that he was failing to carry out as a government employee.

He also claimed to be saving money for lobola.

Darangwa was accused of enrolling the child in a private school costing about US$900, pleading with the court to educate his ex-wife on how to behave professionally.

He asked the court to prevent Darangwa from barging into his workplace with her politically affiliated friends.

Narottam Munengirirwa was ordered to pay US$80 for the care of his minor child. Newsday
