A vile man, who allegedly threatened to kill a minor before ordering her to strip naked and exercise, has appeared before a Bulawayo regional magistrate.
Sydney Sibanda (22) from Nsuza in Matabeleland North Province has appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Colette Ncube faces a criminal contempt charge and has pleaded not guilty.
Sibanda was remanded in custody until February 8 for the start of the trial. He was also advised to apply for bail before the High Court.
It is alleged that on November 26 last year, a 15-year-old girl was expelled from school, and while on her way home she realized she had left her lunch box at school, forcing her to return to school to get it. . She met Sibanda who was carrying an axe and accused her of spreading rumors that he was a rapist. He ordered her to take off her clothes, but she refused.
The court heard that Sibanda slapped her in the face and threatened to cut her into pieces.
Overwhelmed by fear, the girl was stripped naked, and Sibanda forced her to sway and turn in front of him.
The court heard that during the disgusting act, Sibanda heard the sounds of people approaching the scene and fled.
Soon, some villagers arrived at the scene and found her wearing her school uniform. She narrated her ordeal to them before she reported the incident to the police that led to Sibanda’s arrest. B metro
