FIGHT FOR BYO OFFICES newsdzeZimbabweNewsdzeZimbabwe

The offices, which belonged to the MDC party, which later became the MDC Alliance before the CCC took control, were repainted blue on Monday night.

Nelson Chamisa loyalists are locked in a bitter battle with the rival camp of the Citizens Alliance for Change and the MDC for control of the Bulawayo party offices.

The offices, which belonged to the MDC party, which later became the MDC Alliance before the CCC took control, were repainted blue on Monday night.

All the while, the offices were painted yellow, CCC’s corporate colors.

Bulawayo residents walk in on Tuesday morning to find offices painted blue, with Chamisa’s image on top.

There have been reports that Chamisa is about to launch a new party with blue as the chosen colour.

MDC leader Douglas Mwonzora immediately sparked controversy by claiming ownership of the offices, protesting what he called the seizure of offices by the Chamisa group.

“Yesterday (Tuesday), we woke up and realized that some criminals broke into our offices in Bulawayo and painted them blue,” Mwonzora said in a recorded audio recording.

“These are people who are apparently preparing to form a new party. We have recorded that these offices and many others in the country belong to the MDC; The papers bear witness to this…the MDC will never tolerate the invasion of its hard-earned property.

CCC Bulawayo spokesperson Swithern Chirodza said: “We don’t know what Mwonzora was talking about. We don’t know what Mwonzora is huffing and puffing about. Blue has always been our colour. We have blue and yellow and I can assure you we are not finished yet.”

Singiso Chabangu, the self-proclaimed secretary-general of the ACC, threatened legal action.

“We will take legal action soon. We are preparing court papers to stop this criminal activity.”

The CCC was thrown into disarray after Chamisa left the party saying he had been infiltrated and hijacked by Zanu PF agents like Chabangu, who came out of nowhere late last year to call the shots and summon several party members, parliament and senators. And advisors.

Yesterday, a camp allied with Chabangu and Chamisa announced separate plans to move forward after Chamisa quit the party. Newsday
